An article by Lynley Donnelly highlighting the very controversial debate of food vs. fuel debate in South Africa biofuels industry. With special comment from the CEF spokesperson Mr. Mandla Tyala , J&J Bioenergy Mr. Steven Collins and CEO of SABA Mr. Erhard Seiler. The article focused mainly on the 2% target allocated for biofuels mix in South Africa compared to the potential 10% bio-ethanol as well 5% bio-diesel mix. Other statements included the use of land for the production of biofuels and the high cost behind transporting cane causes majority of SA farmers to switch to other crops.
